Saric deprived of property worth several millions

BELGRADE - Drug lord Darko Saric, his relatives and associates have been temporarily deprived of property worth several million euros during criminal proceedings that have been underway for more than four years now.

The property confiscated at the discretion of the court includes numerous apartments, houses, land lots, legal entities, hotels and shares.

It has been taken away from Saric, his wife Natasa, brother Dusko, mother Ivanka, sister Danijela, nephews Dario and Matija Saric and Lana Popovic as person connected with Saric, according to a statement from the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration that was delivered to Tanjug.

Among the seized legal entities that Saric is connected to is a consortium of legal entities, MaestralTours doo Budva, and Palic A.D. Subotica.

The list of seized property includes six apartments in Belgrade of 179.56 m2, 181.24 m2, 115.14 m2, 97.91 m2 and 76.08 m2 floor space, two garages with 25.65 m2 and 31.75 m2 usable areas and a family residential building in Belgrade of 411m2 total floor area.

A garage in Kragujevac with a 22,67m2 floor space, 13 land plots in Sremska Kamenica totaling 160 ares, about RSD 2 million and EUR 40,000, an Audi A6 car, and other property in Novi Sad, Palic in Sremska Mitrovica are also listed.

Saric and his family were also deprived of property in Montenegro where criminal proceedings over money laundering charges are underway against his brother Dusko.

Saric was placed in Belgrade's Special Court detention unit Tuesday morning, after four and a half years since the start of the investigation.
