Serbia, China sign plan for military cooperation

BELGRADE -- Officials of the Serbian Defense Ministry and the Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China have signed a plan for military cooperation.

The plan, covering 2014, was signed in Belgrade on Thursday by official at the Department for International Military Cooperation Colonel Milan Konjikovac and official at the Chinese Ministry of National Defense Senior Colonel Wang Haibin.

In the coming period, Serbia-China military cooperation will focus on further high-level dialogue and training of military staff, the Serbian Ministry of Defense said on its website.

The defense ministries will also work on creating conditions for improving economic and medical cooperation in that field.

During the meeting, Colonel Konjikovac thanked China for the assistance it has been offering to the Serbian Defense Ministry in the defense system reform, referring to the donations that it has received so far and the training of the Serbian armed forces in that country.

In the meeting, both sides voiced willingness to continue this reciprocal relationship in the future, reads the release.
