Ivanovic reaches top 16 in Miami

MIAMI - Serbia's Ana Ivanovic has reached the top 16 phase of the WTA tournament in Miami.

She defeated Italiy's Flavia Pennetta 6-4 6-3 in 3rd round on Saturday.

Ivanovic played well throughout the match and took the victory after 79 minutes on court.

Jelena Jankovic was ousted in the 1st round when she lost to Varvara Lepchenko of the US 6-3 2-6 7-6(2).

The prize fund in Miami is USD 5.42 million. The defending champion is world number one Serena Williams of the US.
