Ivanovic ousted by Kvitova

MIAMI - Serbia's Ana Ivanovic has failed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the WTA premier series tournamen in Miami.

She lost to Czech Republics Petra Kvitova 3-6 6-0 6-0 on Monday.

Ivanovic went from brilliant to terrible in her game and will probably have trouble putting this match behind her.

She played excellently in the first set and took it without much trouble, but then entered an endless series of errors that gave Kvitova 12 consecutive games.

It was Ivanovic's 3rd defeat against Kvitova, 2011 Wimbledon champion, in 7 matches.

Kvitova will face Maria Sharapova in the quarterfinals. Sharapova beat Kirsten Flipkens from Belgium 3-6 6-4 6-1 in the previous round.
