Boat, fishing and hunting show opened
BELGRADE - The international boat, hunting and fishing show, featuring more than 70 participants from the country and abroad, opened on Wednesday at the Belgrade Fair.
The trade show was opened by a family of seafarers, Jelena and Srboljub Kojadinovic, and Serbian rower and Olympian Nikola Stojic, who competed in numerous world and European championships.
Kojadinovic underlined the need to develop nautical tourism in Serbia, pointing to the fact that Serbia does not have a single cruise ship while 500 cruisers sail into the country every year.
Stojic expressed hope that this trade show will contribute to the promotion of Serbian economy and tourism, and announced the European Rowing Championship which is set to begin on May 31 at the Belgrade peninsula of Ada Ciganlija.
More than 100 vessels will be showcased at the fair, including the largest boat built in Serbia - the 11.2 meters long “Narval”, while one of the largest luxury yachts in the world "Monterey" is on display in the open air.
Besides boats and yachts, the visitors will also have a chance to learn more about the latest inboard and outboard engines by world's best-known manufacturers.
The exhibition titled “River and sea captains of Serbia and Boka” (Adriatic coast of Montenegro) has been staged in cooperation with the Museum of Science and Technology.
Owing to the Museum of Yugoslav History and the Natural History Museum, the visitors will be able to see the exhibition of trophies and hunting and fishing gear from the estate of the former SFRY president Josip Broz Tito.
