Ikonomidis believes new Serbian gov't will be up to task

BELGRADE - Greece's Ambassador to Belgrade Konstantinos Ikonomidis believes that the new Serbian government will be formed very soon and demonstrate that it is up to the big task of implementing reforms, solving economic problems and continuing on the path towards the EU.

I am certain that the new government will be formed very soon. It will face a big task - it needs to implement reforms and solve economic issues, but I am confident that the new government will do well, Ikonomidis told Tanjug late Tuesday at a reception marking Greece's Independence Day.

He said that the path towards the EU is also very important, urging Serbia to continue the good work.

Ambassador Ikonomidis congratulated Serbia on the recent elections, which he said proceeded excellently.
