President Obama, Pope Francis Meet in Vatican

The US President Barack Obama was received by Pope Francis in The Vatican, in what was the first meeting between the two.

Despite various issues on which Obama and Pope Francis contradict, their talks were reported to have been dominated by topics of social justice and poverty, according to Euronews.

In various statements prior to his European tour, the US President described the Pope as an inspirational man, praising his values of compassion, empathy, and humaneness.

Following his meeting with Pope Francis, Barack Obama is meeting Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
