Turkey Blocks YouTube Day After Court Lifts Ban on Twitter

Turkey has blocked access to YouTube, a day after the ban on Twitter has been revoked, according to international media reports.

The national telecoms authority announced taking an administrative measure against the site in Turkey.

YouTube has been blocked due to a newly leaked recording allegedly including Turkey's intelligence chief discussing possible military operations in Syria with the foreign minister and the deputy head of the armed forces.

Access to Twitter was blocked in Turkey on March 20, shortly after Prime Minister Recep Erdogan vowed to "root it out" during a rally earlier that day, only 10 days before local elections. Erdogan also said he did not care how the international community would react and that he would show the world the power of the Turkish Republic.
