Dara Dzokic about Sterijino Pozorje: I shall always fight for acting

I am sorry that we are not in competition. That is insulting, an actress 'who plays in the 'August: Osage County' of the Atelje 212 Theatre says.

The selection of plays for the Sterijino Pozorje has been always a reason for various comments. As regards this year's selection a debate has been caused by Biljana Srbljanovic who problematized a fact that her play 'This Grave is Small to Me' has been included in the competition. The play is being performed by a theatre from Vienna and not by our the Bitef Theatre. On the other hand it has been concluded unofficially and almost by a consensus that this year's selection is a considerable progress in relation to the last year's one. The fact that one of the best performances of the actual repertoire in Serbia 'August: Osage County' of the Atelje 212 Theatre has not been included in the competition has been seen as a huge injustice. The play (Tracy Letts/Ljiljana Todorovic) is called 'a masterclass of acting creations'.

 

A meeting with Dara Dzokic took place for quite another reason.. However it was impossible not to speak about the Sterijino Pozorje.

 

About mainstream
