Czech donation delivered to school for visually impaired

BELGRADE -- The donation of Czech government to the total value of EUR 10,000 was delivered to the Veljko Radmanović school for students with impaired eyesight.

The school is located in the Belgrade municipality of Zemun.

The contract on the donation for procurement of equipment for the school gym, Braille textbooks and a guitar was delivered by Czech president's wife Ivana Zemanova.

In the company of Serbian president's wife Dragica Nikolić, Zemanova visited the school's library, computing center, and printing shop.

This is the second donation of the Czech embassy and the first one was delivered in the mode of Braille keyboards which are used in the computing center, the school's principal, Radmila Laban, told reporters.

On behalf of 148 pupils, Laban presented gifts to the guests including the school monograph and pupils' works.

The school is the only one of its kind in Serbia and it offers classes for children from preschool age to high school graduates.

The school also features a dorm for students coming from other parts of Serbia.
