High-speed rail, flights step up Serbia-Hungary cooperation

BELGRADE - Hungarian Ambassador to Serbia Oszkar Nikowitz said on Wednesday that he expects that the envisaged infrastructure projects, such as high-speed rail lines between Belgrade and Budapest, and Szeged and Subotica, and the launch of an Air Serbia flight from Belgrade to Budapest, will contribute to the overall economic cooperation between Hungary and Serbia.

At an event titled "Days of Hungary" which took place at the College of Tourism in Belgrade, Nikowitz said that relations between the two states are good and sincere, following an upward trend, which has a beneficial effect on cooperation in the field of tourism, organizers announced.

The Hungarian ambassador noted that his country backs Serbia along the EU path, adding that, to that aim, mechanisms are being established for cooperation between the two governments and their bodies so that everything is ready for Serbia's EU entry.

During the event, Hungary's holiday destinations were also presented, especially those that could appeal to young travelers that aspire to work in the tourism industry.

The "Days of Hungary" event was held as part of the program "Ambassadors Speak" that the College is organizing in an effort to bring its students closer to peoples and cultures across the globe.
