Nis and Rome could become twin cities

NIS - Nis Mayor Zoran Perisic and Italian Ambassador in Serbia Giuseppe Manzo conferred on Wednesday over the further development of economic and cultural cooperation and stated that Nis may twine with an Italian city, perhaps even Rome.

Nis and Rome could become twin cities due to their historic and archaeological heritage, Perisic and Manzo said addressing reporters.

Perisic presented to the Italian ambassador the cities' potentials and Manzo said that he believes this part of Serbia would be interesting for Italian investors in the time to come.

Manzo conferred with officials of Benetton company in Nis and representatives of the Italian community in the city. By the end of the day he will also visit the local orphanage 'Dusko Radovic' and the Faculty of Economics.
