Insider author reveals she was sued

BELGRADE -- B92 TV's Brankica Stanković revealed on Thursday during a Profemina gathering that Luka Bojović sued her last month for publishing official notes.

The author and editor of the investigative program Insider ("Insajder") explained that the notes in question were published in her book "Insider - My Story," in which she provided details about her life, why she was assigned police protection, and how she at one one point had to take shelter outside of Belgrade.

The official notes recorded by the Interior Ministry and other relevant institutions state that a sniper for her liquidation had been purchased, and that Luka Bojović was behind this.

Although the book was published six months ago and contains plenty of information and documents from relevant institutions about the threats to her safety, there has been no reaction either from institutions or experts. As Stanković ironically noted today, the only reaction came in the form of Bojović's lawsuit.

"The lawsuit alleges that the official record of operational data is a secret document and cannot be published. The information that Luka Bojović was behind that was not mine, it was official data of the MUP. So it turns out that somebody orders your killed, you publish this, and then he sues you because that's 'official secret'," Stanković said.

Luka Bojović, one of the most wanted figures from the Serbian criminal underworld, was arrested in February 2012 in Spain on suspicion of being responsible for several serious crimes. He is still in Spain, held in extradition custody and awaiting a decision to be sent to Serbia.
