Mexicans enchanted by Ana's and Jovana's beauty

The Serbian girls are the most popular tennis players in Mexico. One is Ana Ivanovic and the other one is still unknown Jovana Jaksic (137th position in the WTA). These two have played in the first Serbian WTA final last night!

Ana Ivanovic, former world number one and the Roland Garros champion was expected to defeat the Dane Caroline Wozniacki (7:6, 6:4), but Jovana (20) made a historic success and surprised all.

With the best career ranking from March (133rd positrion) she defeated the Japanese veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm (6:7, 6:4, 6:4) and reached her first WTA final. A year ago at the same tournament she managed to be in the main draw and make her first win.

 

She made a world fame in Mexico and conquer the audience that is supporting her as a domestic player. She arouse huge media interest. That is a kind of popularity known to Ana Ivanovic (26) for a long time already. They are good friends and strong forehand and service are characteristic for they both.

 

- Ana is one of my best friends, she is really like an elder sister to me – Jaksic said. She is now very near to be among the first 100 players.

 

She has huge support from her brother and uncle Petar Popovic, former Andrea Petkovic's coach.

 

Jovana is living her dreams. She started playing tennis at the age of eight when she persuaded her parents take her to a tennis school. She is training at the Palilula Tennis Clib at facilities being held by her parents.
