Kraljevo - town of hungry people

In a town with 15,000 unemployed people, the goods on green markets and in butcher shops are being purchased ins grams.

The unemployment rate in Kraljevo is even 35 percent. The difference in the number of employed and jobless people is 10,000 in favor of the employed. The average pay is somewhat over 300 Euros. Families with two employed members are rare.

 

Services by the People's Kitchen are being used on a daily basis by 600 people of Kraljevo. Thanks to donations food portions shall be supplied until the end of 2014.

 

- I have never managed to find a permanent job, while my husband used to work in the Magnohrom. In recent years he has been registered at the Employment Service. However, he is 55 and has almost no chance to get a job. I am cleaning a residential building in the town, while my husband sometimes works as a builder. My son has completed e secondary school of mechanical engineering and does not have a job. There are days when we literally have to survive – Gordana Bojovic tells.

Social help for 9,000 people of Kraljevo

More than 3,500 people of Kraljevo received last year a financial help from the Social Center, while the town budget provided one-time financial help for 5,223 people. There are thousands of requests for financial help but neither the Town of Kraljevo nor the Social Center is in a position to help all of the needy people of Kraljevo.
