Two moderate earthquakes hit region

BELGRADE -- A 4.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Slovenia at 10:48 CET on Tuesday, and was, according to reports, also felt in neighboring Croatia.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was at the depth of 12.4 kilometers, located some 52 kilometers southwest of the capital Ljubljana.

There have been no reports of injuries or material damage, the Croatian media said.

Tuesday's earthquake in Slovenia comes on the heels of a 4.5 magnitude tremor that had its epicenter at 14.2 kilometers depth off the coast of Albania last night.

That earthquake was also felt in neighboring Montenegro.
