Serbian economy to be presented in United Arab Emirates

BELGRADE - A delegation of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), headed by its president Zeljko Sertic, will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from April 27th to May 1st and meet the leading businessmen of the seven Emirates.

The economic potential of Serbia as an investment destination will be presented to the UAE business community, PKS states in a release.

An earlier proposal, on the formation of a joint business council of the PKS and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, will be discussed. The council is planned to boost bilateral trade, facilitate the development of industrial and technological cooperation, and enable information exchange.

The Serbia-UAE economic relations have been on the rise over the past years, with a large number of UAE companies showing interest in investing in Serbia.

The UAE partners will be introduced to the business environment and advantages of investing in Serbia, ahead of the visit of a large UAE business delegation to the country, which is expected to arrive in May, during the Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad.

Serbia and the UAE have so far signed agreements on mutual promotion and protection of investments, avoidance of double taxation, as well as a joint statement on establishing strategic partnership.
