Weekly losses for Athens stocks come to just over 2 pct
Alpha and Coca-Cola HBC kept the bourse benchmark above the psychologically significant level of 1,220 points on Friday following an earlier decline that had brought daily losses close to 1 percent.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index finally closed at 1,223.14 points, shedding 0.60 percent from Thursdays 1,230.55 points. Its weekly losses amounted to 2.04 percent.
The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 contracted 0.14 percent to 396.57 points.
Coca-Cola added 2.64 percent and Alpha rose by 1.03 percent, while National fell 5.16 percent to reach a new seven-month low.
In total, 56 stocks went up, 79 came down and 16 stayed put.
Turnover amounted to 98.1 million euros, up from Thursdays 92.6 million.
