Serbian projects presented to UAE businessmen

DUBAI/BELGRADE - Leading members of the chambers of commerce and industry of the Ajman and Umm al-Quwain emirates met the delegation of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) and expressed interest in the imports of bottled water from Serbia, cooperation in the field of animal husbandry and investment in Serbia.

Members of the Serbian delegation visiting the UAE, headed by PKS president Zeljko Sertic, conferred with officials of the Ajman and Umm al-Quwain chambers of commerce, Salem Ahmed Musabbeh Alsuwaidi and Nasser bin Saeed Al-Talay, respectively.

Both sides agreed that there is much room for improvement in the two countries' economic cooperation.

The PKS delegation presented Serbia to potential investors as a good investment destination.

Special attention was paid to investment opportunities in the manufacturing sector in Serbia.

The participants analyzed the potential of existing capacities for the production, bottling and export of Serbian mineral water to the UAE.

Conditions and advantages of organic sheep breeding and exports to the UAE market were also discussed.

Members of the two countries' business communities agreed that the future of economic cooperation lies in joint development plans for export to third-country markets and making the most of advantages stemming from Serbia's free trade agreements.

The PKS delegation invited the UAE managers to be part of the country's economic delegation expected to participate in the 81st Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad in May.

During their official visit to the UAE from April 27 to May 1, the Serbian delegation will meet leading business owners and officials of all seven emirates.
