OPAPs chairman and chief executive, Kamil Ziegler, outlined on Tuesday the priorities of the Greek gaming monopolys new management following its privatization, which mainly concern the introduction of new games and a shift in sponsorship policy.
He said that OPAP will be ready to offer new games of chance soon and Internet betting ahead of June 12, when the soccer World Cup starts in Brazil, while the development of videolotto terminals, i.e. slot machines, will start toward the end of the year.
The companys new sponsorship strategy will be based on three pillars: Health, sports and labor. Money flows to sports will likely be reduced and channeled instead into 250 soccer schools. OPAP will sponsor educational and training activities for young people.
