Ring Ring festival to take place from May 15-28

BELGRADE - This year's international new music festival, 19th Ring Ring, will take place at several locations in Belgrade from May 15-28, the organizer has announced.

According to Bojan Djordjevic, the founder and director of the Ring Ring festival, the main characteristic of this year's festival is diversity in terms of genre.

Ring Ring will present Serbian and foreign bands, authors and performers of new music.

The festival will be declared open at the Cultural Centre of Belgrade on May 15 by American jazz trio DKV, Serbian artists Milana Zaric and Ana Sofrenovic, Stan Sandell and Joel Grip from Sweden and Szilard Mezei from Serbia.

The program also includes gigs by Joe Sachse Trio (Germany/United Kingdom), William Basinski, avant-garde composer based in New York, Broken Heart Collector, a rock band from Austria, Kim Myhr from Norway, Tudosok from Hungary, Zoambo Zoet Workestra from Slovenia.

The event will be closed by the East Rodeo Septet.

The entire set of tickets for 19th Ring Ring is priced at RSD 1,250 , or RSD 1,000 for those who decide to purchase them in advance from May 12-16.
