Cooperation between PKS and Mumbai WTC

BELGRADE - The Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) and the World Trade Centre (WTC) from Mumbai, India, signed a memorandum on long-term business cooperation to back the improvement of economic relations between the two countries and set up strong ties between Indian and Serbian businessmen.

In the presence of Indian Ambassador in Belgrade Narinder Chauhan, the memorandum was signed by PKS Vice President Vidosava Dzagic and Vice Chair of the Mumbai WTC Somesh Batra.

Infrastructure, energy, agriculture and food industry, ICT sector, pharmacy and biotechnology, automobile and defence industry as well as healthcare tourism hold great opportunities for cooperation, Dzagic said.

India's investments in Serbia are not proportional to India's economic power and the situation needs to change, Dzagic said and added that Serbia can offer to Indian investors a large number of projects which can be realised through joint investments, as well as projects of private and public partnership and concessions, she underscored.

Vice Chair of the Mumbai WTC Somesh Batra pointed to the importance of setting up connections between the two countries' citizens by organising forums and bilateral meetings which is the first step for a more efficient economic cooperation.

In September, a major economic summit will be held which will gather 60 delegations and bilateral meetings between businessmen will also be organised, Batra said and called on PKS representatives to attend the gathering together with a delegation of Serbian businessmen, the PKS posted on its website.
