52 Thousand Jobs Created in 2014 – Bulgarian Deputy Social Minister

Some 52,000 jobs were generated in the first four months of 2014, Bulgarian Deputy Social Minister Rositsa Yankova claimed, Monday.

For Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) Yankova commented that the trade and services and industry sectors have shown signs of recovery.

Unemployment in the under 29 age group must drop to 7% at the end of 2020 compared to the current levels of 22%, Deputy Minster Yankova pledged.

The Deputy Social Minister explained that under the new OP Human Resources Development changes will be introduced to the training courses regulations. So far everybody could choose the further professional training they wanted to acquire. A new differentiated approach is to be introduced, Yankova explained. All courses will be concentrated, including by regions, and professions that are actually in demand, in order to guarantee that after training completion 60-70% of people will indeed be able to find a job.

A total of BGN 200M will be allocated to combat poverty under a new OP which will provide food and goods of prime necessity to socially disadvantaged people.
