Kosovo Charges Serb With Policeman's Killing

International and local prosecutors in Kosovo have filed an indictment against two people over the attack on a Kosovo police convoy on July 25, 2011, which caused the officer’s death, the EU rule-of-law mission, EULEX said on Monday.

“The defendants are charged with the criminal offences of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, unauthorized ownership, control, possession or use of weapons, obstructing official persons in performing official duties, endangering public traffic by dangerous acts or means, causing general danger and participating in a crowd committing a criminal offence,” EULEX said in a statement.

BIRN has learned Radovan Radic, a Kosovo Serb,  is one of the two people suspected of the killing of police officer Enver Zymberi, who died the day after the attack.

The district prosecutor in Mitrovica had previously issued arrest warrants for Ratomir Bozovic, Milovan Vlaskovic, Slobodan Vucinic, Dusan Jovanovic and Radisa Vucinic as well as Radic. All of them are Kosovo Serbs.

Vucinic was arrested two years ago but later released.
