Serbia at Cannes Film Festival

BELGRADE - Serbia will be presented by the movie entitled Leto bez meseca (Moonless Summer) directed by Stefan Ivancic in the official selections of this year's Cannes Festival.

The movie was produced by the Faculty of Dramatic Arts and the Belgrade-based Non-Aligned Films and it will be displayed as part of Cinefondation program on May 21.

As stated by the Film Center Serbia, the jury president of this renowned program is Abbas Kiarostami.

Belgrade director Katarina Stankovic will present her project dubbed “Against the Day” as part of Cinefondation's La Residence.

As part of Marche du Film, the most important platform for film commerce in the world, will display four latest Serbian movies: Varvari (Barbarians) by Ivan Ikic, Mamula by Milan Todorovic, Mali Budo (Little Buddho) by Danilo Beckovic and Sizif K (Sisyphus K.), by Filip Gajic.

Eight regional countries - Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Cyprus, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia, will join forces for the fifth time and present their works as part of the Regional Pavilion.

Serbia's cinematography will be presented by the Film Center Serbia this year as well under the auspices of the Serbian Ministry of Information and Culture.

The Cannes festival will take place May 14-15.
