Jankovic, Kleybanova advance in doubles

ROME - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic and Russia's Alisa Kleybanova are off to a successful start in the doubles competition of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, defeating on Tuesday the Russian-Australian pairing of Svetlana Kuznetsova/Samantha Stosur in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.

Jankovic and Kleybanova are through to the Round of 16, where they will face third seeds Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina of Russia, who received a bye in the opening round.

In singles, Jankovic set up a second-round clash with Kuznetsova on Wednesday.

The WTA tournament in the capital of Italy offers a total prize fund of EUR 2.12 million.
