"New phase of cooperation between China, CEEC"

BEIJING -- Aleksandar Antić says "a new phase in cooperation between China and CEEC can be expected, particularly in infrastructure, energy, trade and culture."

Antić is the Serbian minister of energy and mining and national coordinator for cooperation between the People's Republic of China and 16 Central and Easter European Countries (CEEC).

“A new phase in relations can be expected bearing in mind China's great readiness, and it will be characterized by work on realization of prepared projects in infrastructure, energy, trade, science and culture,” he said in Beijing, where he is attending the third meeting of national coordinators of the mechanism of cooperation between the People's Republic of China and 16 CEEC.

Antić underlined that the process of cooperation between China and CEEC has begun to assume concrete shape and yield first important results, the Serbian Ministry of Energy and Mining released in a statement.

As part of the Beijing meeting, Antić also had a separate meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Wang underlined the great importance that China attaches to the cooperation with CEEC, and announced plans for fostering this cooperation as part of China's overall cooperation with Europe, the statement reads.
