Vučić sends condolences to Turkish PM

BELGRADE -- Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić has sent a telegram of condolences to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the tragedy at a coal mine.

“On behalf of the Serbian people and on my own behalf, I wish to express our deepest and most sincere condolences about the terrible accident in the mine in the Manisa Province, which claimed so many lives,” Vučić said.

Vučić also asked Erdogan to forward his sympathies to the families of the victims.

“It is virtually impossible to find words of consolation for the great pain possessing the entire soul of the Turkish people at the moment. However, I am confident that You and the Government of the Republic of Turkey will prove a strong support for the families of the victims,” the Serbian prime minister said in the telegram.

The explosion at the coal mine in Soma has so far claimed 182 lives.
