Serbia's bowling team world champion, sets new world record

BRNO - Serbia's junior bowling team won the title of world champion at the recent bowling championship in Brno, the Czech Republic, setting the new world record of 3,890 skittles.

The champion team coached by Vojko Pavlovic comprises Robert Ernjesi (697 skittles), Marko Antic (616 skittles), Igor Kovacic (697 skittles), Milorad Vojinovic (598 skittles), Radovan Vlajkov (684 skittles) and Alen Kujundzic (616 skittles), while David Lainscak and Balaz Kovac were reserve players.

The Hungarian team claimed the silver medal with 3,769 skittles and Slovakia claimed bronze with 3,731 skittles.

The previous world record was set by the German team and it totalled 3,739 skittles.

”This is the best generation in world bowling championship in history. The record they set can hardly be beaten by anyone, except if Serbia gives birth to a new generation of bowling aliens in a couple of years,” President of the Bowling Federation of Serbia Uros Dragojlovic said and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its support.
