Austria will help Bosnia and Serbia with EUR 1 million

VIENNA - The Austrian government decided on Tuesday to help Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, two countries hit by catastrophic floods, with EUR 1 million.

The money will come from the fund for aid to foreign countries hit by natural disasters.

The funds will be distributed to Austrian NGOs.

According to a statement, 46 members of rescue teams from the fire brigades of Vienna, Lower Austria and Salzburg are already in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

There are 57 firefighters from Salzburg, Upper Austria and Carinthia providing relief in Serbia.

The teams were sent to Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina equipped with boats, pumps and supply vehicles.

The Austrian troops that are part of EUFOR are also helping the Bosnian authorities, with their helicopters.
