BSP, GERB Equal Ahead of European Elections - Poll

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and center-right GERB would both get 18.3% of the votes if the European elections were today, according to a Gallup International survey.

The survey was conducted between May 8 and May 15, with 1,011 eligible voters asked about their preferences.

Worth noting is the rise of popularity of Bulgaria Without Censorship, former journalist Nikolay Barekov's new formation. It takes over the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS's third position by a thin margin. BWC is projected to get 7.2%, while DPS stands at 7.1%.

Other parties with a chance of entering the European Parliament are the Reformist Bloc and the ABV movement of former President Georgi Parvanov. The ultranationalist Ataka has a very slim chance of sending an MEP.

Of those surveyed, 44% say they would vote in Sunday's elections.
