European Elections Begin in the UK, the Netherlands

Millions of people are voting on the first day of the European elections 2014 in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, Thursday.

Voting will take place in the EU's other 27 member states over the next four days, with 751 MEPs in total to be chosen.

Ireland will vote on Friday, and the Czech Republic will hold elections on two consecutive days - Friday and Saturday. Italy, Malta, Slovakia and Latvia will exercise their right to vote on Saturday.

The rest of the EU member states, including Bulgaria, will vote on the last day of the European Parliament Elections, Sunday May 25.

Although Europeans will not vote on the same day throughout all EU Member States, the results will be announced at the same time after the polling stations in Italy close on Sunday, May 25.
