Serbian defense minister at int'l conference in Moscow

MOSCOW - Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic will take part in a two-day Moscow International Security Conference on Friday.

Gasic is leading a delegation of the defense ministry and Serbian Armed Forces to a conference at which one of the main topics will address ways to overcome the "export of terrorism", with an emphasis on the military-political aspects of the contemporary security threats.

As the defense ministry announced, participants of the conference will tour the Alabino training ground near Moscow where a tank biathlon will be held in August.

The organizer of the conference, for a third year in a row, is the Russian Defense Ministry.

The agenda envisages the holding of a plenary session on Friday, during which Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will address the participants.

According to the confirmations received so far, the conference will bring together representatives of 36 countries, six of them, alongside the host, at the level of the defense ministry, and officials of the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Arab League.
