Bulgaria's PM Oresharski Urges People to Keep Calm after Earthquake

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski is monitoring the situation following the earthquake which occurred earlier Saturday in Aegean Sea and was felt in Bulgaria and Greece.

PM Oresarski keeps in constant contact with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Tsvetlin Yovchev and the head of the Chief Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection Nikolay Nikolov in order to receive timely information. He has urged people to keep calm, the Government press center informs.

The epicenter of the earthquake which occurred at around 12.25 pm on May 24 was near the Greek island of Samothrace. According to various reports, the magnitude of the quake that shook Bulgaria and Greece was between 6.5 - 6.9 on the Richter scale.

So far, there have been no reports of injured or damages on the territory of Bulgaria.
