2014EP BEC - Voter turnout in European Parliament elections in Romania: 18.41 pct as of 4 p.m. EEST

Voter turnout in the Sunday's elections for the European Parliament in Romania as of 4 p.m. EEST was 18.41 percent, according to data released by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC).

Urban area turnout was 17.11 percent and rural area 20.18 percent.

According to the Bureau, 16.36 percent of the voters had cast their ballot in Bucharest. Turnout in Bucharest District 1 was 21.04 percent, in District 2 — 16.64 percent, in District 3 — 14.82 percent, in District 4 — 16.61 percent, in District 5 — 13.20 percent and in District 6 — 17.19 percent.

Higher turnout rates were reported in the counties of Olt (south) — 25.07 percent, Ilfov (south) — 23.75 percent, Mehedinti (southwest)—22.92 percent, Dambovita (south) — 22.51 percent, Prahova (south) — 21.39 percent.

Lower turnout was seen in Ialomita (southeast) at 14.11 percent, Maramures (northwest) — 14.52 percent, western Timis at 15.38 percent, Arad (west) — 15.59 percent, Buzau (southeast) — 15.62 percent.

The Bureau announced that voter turnout as of 4 p.m. in Sunday's Euro-polls was as follows: the counties of Alba — 20.13 pct, Arad—15.59 pct, Arges — 20.04 pct, Bacau — 20.04 pct, Bihor—19.05 pct, Bistrita — Nasaud — 19.65 pct, Botosani—19.52 pct, Brasov—18.53 pct, Braila — 16.51 pct, Buzau — 15.62 pct, Caras-Severin—18.46 pct, Calarasi — 18.13 pct, Cluj — 16.24 pct, Constanta — 17.28 pct, Covasna — 17.59 pct, Dambovita — 22.51 pct, Dolj — 20.88 pct, Galati — 18.35 pct, Giurgiu — 20.57 pct, Gorj — 20.44 pct, Harghita — 21.02 pct, Hunedoara — 21.28 pct, Ialomita — 14.11 pct, Iasi — 16.59 pct, Ilfov — 23.75 pct, Maramures — 14.52 pct, Mehedinti — 22.92 pct, Mures—16.07 pct...
