PDL chairman Vasile Blaga has stated on Sunday that his party's results in the exit-polls are acceptable, but they could have been better, because he hoped for a larger turnout, especially in the areas where, traditionally, PDL fares better.

"It could've been a better percentage, but in the given conditions, it is an acceptable percentage, but it could've been better, I was hoping in a larger turnout especially in the areas in which, traditionally, PDL fares better, but we must respect the electorate's decision and we will know better how we are situated around 02.00-03.00 tonight" said Blaga, at the PDL headquarters.

Asked if after the elections discussions will be underway to unify the right-wing, Blaga stated that they must wait for the final results to know how each party fared.

"Sure that we will (e.n. — have discussions with other right-wing parties), but we must be patient tonight and know exactly how each party fared, because a lot of people are joyous ahead of time. In 2009, some were chanting "Mihaela, my love" at this hour and in the morning it was different", said the PDL president.

Blaga thanked in PDL's name all Romanians for making the time and voting and opting for Romania's future in the EU.

According to the exit polls presented by TV broadcasters, PDL garnered in the European Parliament elections of Sunday around 12 percent of the votes. AGERPRES
