Two consecutive earthquakes with magnitudes of 4.6 and 4.4 on the Richter scale were registered in the Aegean Sea, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The epicenter of the earthquakes was near the epicenter of Saturday's 6.9-magnitude earthquake.

As of Saturday, seismologists registered over 135 aftershocks, 20 of them of a magnitude of 4+ on the Richter scale.

The aftershocks were not felt in Bulgaria, unlike the 6.9-magnitude jolt on May 24.

Bulgaria's National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography assured that the earthquake activity was diminishing.

In Bulgaria's Haskovo, an earthquake was felt at 2.40 pm on Sunday.

The earthquake lasted about 30 seconds and felt lighter than Saturday's jolt.
