EduMin Costoiu votes for a strong, respected Romania, jobs in Gorj County

Mihnea Costoiu, Romania's minister of higher education and scientific research and a candidate in a by-election to the Senate representing College 2 of Gorj County on the tickets of the electoral alliance made up of the Social Democratic Party, the National Union for Romania's Progress and the Conservative Party (PSD-UNPR-PC) on Sunday said he voted for 'a strong and respected Romania, as well as for jobs and investment in the educational and healthcare infrastructure of Gorj County.'

He said his election trips to the county revealed to him that jobs shortage is the main problem facing the Gorj citizens. 'My electioneering and long trips to the county showed me that people have some concerns that politicians have to assuage by projects and solutions. Jobs shortage is the main problem of the locals, and I voted for jobs creation in Gorj, for projects funded by European funds that will provide jobs to the people. I voted for investment in educational and healthcare infrastructure, for a better future for the pensioners, for my parents, our parents; I voted for a strong and respected Europe,' Costoiu said upon leaving the polling station on Sunday.

He added that he is urging the Gorj voters to turn out to vote in high numbers so that their vote may matter and they may be spared the disappointments that would face them in the past.

Seven candidates of the main political parties have filed bids with the County Electoral Bureau (BEJ) for the vacant senator's seat representing College 2 of Gorj.
