BELGRADE -- Slovenian President Borut Pahor will arrive in Serbia on Thursday - the first bilateral-level visit by a Slovenian president to Serbia "since 1991."

It serves as a proof of excellent relations between the two countries, Slovenian Ambassador to Serbia Franc But told Tanjug on Tuesday.

The previous two visits to Serbia by Slovenian presidents were organised in order to attend multilateral meetings, the ambassador noted.

Pahor will meet Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and Parliament Speaker Maja Gojković and address the Serbian parliament on the first day of the visit, But stated.

Slovenia's Minister of Finance Uros Cufer, Defense Minister Roman Jakič and a delegation of around 100 business officials will accompany Pahor, But pointed out.

The second day of the visit will be dedicated to economic cooperation. There will be a roundtable discussion and meetings at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, which will be organized by the two countries' chambers of commerce and the Slovenian Business Club.

During the visit, Pahor will also address the students of the Belgrade University at the university Rectorate and talks about the future of united Europe and the significance of having Serbia and the countries of the Western Balkans become EU members, said But.

The Slovenian president will also meet with Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić.
