Slovenian president to visit Serbia on Thursday

BELGRADE - Slovenian President Borut Pahor will arrive on a two-day visit to Serbia on the invitation of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic.

The Slovenian president, who will arrive with a business delegation, will get a ceremonial welcome in front of the Palace of Serbia, which will be followed by a tete-a-tete meeting between the two presidents, reads a statement by the Serbian president's press office.

This will be followed by a meeting between the state delegations of Serbia and Slovenia, after which Presidents Nikolic and Pahor will sign a political declaration.

The Slovenian president is scheduled to lay a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mt. Avala.

As Slovenian Ambassador to Serbia Franc But told Tanjug earlier, the fact that Pahor will arrive on a bilateral visit to Serbia, the first of the kind since 1991, is a sign of the two countries' excellent relations.

Pahor paid a working visit to Serbia in May 2013, and Nikolic visited Slovenia in July 2013.

As announced by the National Assembly, Pahor will confer with Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic on Thursday, and address the MPs at a special session.

Ambassador But announced that Pahor will also meet with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.

Pahor will arrive together with Slovenia's Minister of Finance Uros Cufer, Defence Minister Roman Jakic and a delegation of around 100 business officials.

The second day of the visit will be dedicated to economic cooperation. There will be a roundtable discussion and meetings at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, which will be organised by the two countries' chambers of commerce and the Slovenian...
