Romanian cyclist Eduard Grosu continues his excellent season; he won the first stage of the 2014 Tour of Estonia on Friday, which obviously entitles him to wear the current leader's yellow jersey. His performance came just months after signing his first professional contract with the Italian-Japanese team.

Tour of Estonia's first stage went from Tallinn, the country's capital, to Tartu, where Grosu won the sprint before stopping the chronometer at 4 hours 21'01', inches ahead Latvian Emils Liepins (Rietumu — Delfin Team) and German Michael Schweizer (Baku Cycling Project), which were registered with the same time result.

Friday's victory brought 16 points in the Europe Tour to the young road racing cyclist (21 y.o.), as the competition has a fairly high level (2.1 in UCI's classification, right after the 3 great classic tours). Grosu now has 76 points, a very important score with a view to Romania's participation in the World Championships and later on in the 2016 Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro. AGERPRES
