Russia sends new aid contingent to Serbia

MOSCOW, May 30 (Tanjug) - Russia has sent another 33 tons of relief aid to Serbia, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Drobyshevsky said on Friday.

A Russian Ilyushin-76 plane carrying 33 tons of aid for flood-hit regions in Serbia took off for Belgrade early Friday, he said.

The aid consists of tents - each for 10 people - mobile power stations, sets of rescue equipment, bottled water, flour, canned food and hygiene products, the Itar-Tass reports.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has so far sent more than 138 tons of aid for the flood-hit regions in Serbia.
