At the moment there are only rough data about the damage caused by recent flooding, but it is certain that the damage shall be larger than the help we are going to get, Marko Blagojevic, Director of the Government's Office for Renewal says.

- The Office for Renewal and Help to Flooded Areas shall coordinate the work on renewal and supervise spending of the collected money. We are waiting for all requests to arrive. After that we shall have to determine the damage and the money required that it is repaired. The key thing is in what way the money is going to be spent and other kind of donations distributed, Marko Blagojevic, the Office Director says for the Blic.

 

Has the Office started working formally?
 

Yes, it started working two days ago, but the work on it is still going on. People from the State Administration shall also be included in its work. There are also ongoing talks with the international partners that they help us by putting their experts at our disposal. Our international partners are very important to us and they include the EU, the World Bank, the UN and other bilateral donation suppliers.

 

Is there at least a frame assessment of the damage?

There are rough estimations. We shall have to analyze what direct and what indirect image is and if there shall be enough money to cover it. One thing is certain and it is that the damage shall be larger than the value of the help. That is why the help has to be distributed in the right way, so the most serious work is still ahead of us, i.e. organization of an international fund-raising conference.
