Romania's first participation in BookExpo America, successful (ICR New York)

Following the numerous contacts made during the fair — with translators, writers, literary agents, publishing houses and book distributors who visited Romania's stand or who attended the conferences of Romania's special guests on the Global Market stage — the results of the participation in BookExpo America are to materialize in projects and contracts that will promote on the North American market the literary works of Romanian authors, both of those living in Romania and of the writers in the Romanian diaspora in the United States. In addition to literature — poetry or prose — also promoted will be books and albums dealing with art, history, architecture, culture and civilization, which were heavily represented at Romania's stand at the BEA.

Romania's first participation in BookExpo America /BEA/, the most important international book fair in North America, held May 28 to 31, in New York , was a real success, the ICR New York says.

As an immediate continuation of the BEA, 'Mihai Eminescu Manuscripts' — Eminescu's full works in facsimile edition, complied by Academician Eugen Simion and published by the Romanian Academy — as well as the most important books exhibited at Romania's stand at BookExpo America in 2014 were offered on Monday to the Library of the U.S. Congress in Washington by an official delegation that included Mihály Zoltán Nagy — Vice President of the ICR, Ioana Dragan — Director General, Directorate General of ICR Representation Offices Abroad, and Doina Uricariu — Director of the ICR New York. In their turn, Ilinca Franc and Roxana Nicolaescu, from the Communication Department of Romania's Central Bank (BNR), offered the prestigious library, and within the same ceremony, some of the monumental publications dedicated to the national heritage and published with the BNR's support.AGERPRES
