Serbian poet Radomir Andric receives award in Romania

RESITA - Radomir Andric, Serbian poet and president of the Association of Serbian Writers, has received an award at the Romanian International Poetry Festival held in the city of Resita, western Romania, on the first three days of June.

Andric was given the Award for the spirit of friendship and popularization of Romanian culture, the Association of Serbian Writers has said in a release.

Several of Andric's poetry books have been translated and published in Romania.

In the explanation of their decision, the festival's jury said that Andric's poetry had been met with great critical acclaim and a warm reception by Romania's readers.

The reception of the award marked half a century of Radomir Andric's poetic career.
