Serbia elected to chair Danube Commission

BELGRADE - Serbia will chair the Danube Commission for the next three years, Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released on Thursday.

This is yet another confirmation of Serbia's changed international position and its reputation in the international community, the release states.

The candidate of Serbia for the Danube Commission chairperson won the secret ballot over the Ukrainian candidate by six votes to five.
"Serbian Ambassador to Hungary Rade Drobac will chair the Danube Commission on behalf of Serbia for the next three years," said First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Serbia Ivica Dacic.

The Danube Commission includes Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine.
