Czech Republic has donated around EUR 250,000 to Serbia

BELGRADE - The Czech Republic, which donated the equipment worth EUR 60,000 to the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) on Tuesday, has so far given Serbia around EUR 250,000 in assistance after the severe floods, Czech Ambassador to Serbia Ivana Hlavsova has said.

The Czech ambassador, who delivered the equipment to EPS senior officials, said that the Czech companies Noen and Sigma donated mud pumps to the Kolubara mining basin, and the AZD firm sent aid to facilitate the railway transport of coal for the thermal power plant Nikola Tesla (TENT).

Here, we have also generators and dryers for the municipalities in western Serbia that were affected by
the floods, Hlavsova said, when giving donations at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Belgrade.

She underlined that more aid is on the way, adding that preparations for some projects for the flood-hit areas are being done, and that the Czech Republic is financing the delivery of other aid.

Czech firms, regions, municipalities have been engaged and there is also solidarity among Czech citizens who make donations to the relief funds, the ambassador said.
