EXCLUSIVE A Bacau resident pedals 5000 km in tour of Romania to raise funds for aiding 28 teenagers

Cyclist Anton Duma has set off on Sunday from Bacau in a tour of Romania that will encompass 5,000 km in order to raise funds for aiding 28 teenage girls that are presently in the care of the Betania Association of Bacau through their program titled "Youth Integration Center".

"As a messenger of this association, Anton Duma will pedal with the objective of raising 5,000 euro, a sum that would help several teenagers get an actual chance to set off in their own journey through life", said for AGERPRES Dutchman Andre Muit, chairman of the charitable Betania Association of Bacau.

Every kilometer of the cyclist's trip can be "bought" in exchange for a donation to the Paypal account of Betania Association, 1 km being worth 1 euro.

Anton Duma will spread the message of the campaign across Romania through a tour that will see him cycling in Iasi, Vaslui, Tecuci, Galati, Tulcea, Constanta, Calarasi, Bucuresti, Alexandria, Caracal, Craiova, Turnu Severin, Timisoara, Arad, Oradea, Satu Mare, Cluj, Dej, Bistrita, Sighetu Marmatiei, Campulung Moldovenesc, Gura Humorului, Suceava, Botosani, Brasov, Sibiu, Alba Iulia, Reghin, Gheorgheni, Miercurea Ciuc, Comanesti.

"Beyond 'technical' terms such as personal life skills, abilities or social assistance, there are people with dreams, hopes and wishes. Specifically those in which they envisage building an honorable life. Well, I too would like to lend a helping hand to start making these dreams and hopes a reality. Through my presence in the country's large cities I want to draw attention on the existence of human beings on the threshold of maturity that want to step into public life with their heads held high, honest and confident.
