A day after marriage Novak travels to Rio

The Mondial football fever has got grip of the world's no. 2 tennis player. A day after the marriage, Novak shall travel to Brazil to attend the ceremony of crowning of the new world champion.

In the following weeks Novak Djokovic shall be focused on the grand slam torunament in Wimbledon and wedding with Jelena Ristic. However as majority of young people of his age he, too shall watch the football matches from Brazil. As the Blic learns, a day after marriage with Jelena he shall travel with friends to Rio de Janeiro to watch the grand final on July 13.

Novak and Jelena shall get married on July 9 at the St. Stefan Island in Montenegro. The very next day the groom shall travel to Brazil.

He revealed in Paris recently that he would cheer the teams from the region, Croatia and Bosnia/Herzegovina.

Jelena to stay at home

Novak’s future wife Jelena shall not travel with him to Brazil because of pregnancy. She is expected to deliver a baby in October. The parents to be still have not revealed the sex of their baby to the public.

- Unfortunately Serbia has not qualified, so I shall cheer for the neighboring countries, Bosnia/Herzegovina and Croatia. There are some other temas as well. I like football. I cannot decide about favorites, perhaps Spain or the hosting Brazil. Germany is always strong. It is difficult to say – Djokovic said.

This shall not be his first trip to Brazil. He spent a weekend in the country of coffee an football in November of 2012 when he played exhibition humanitarian tennis and football matches in Rio. He was great playing with Ziko, Bebeto, Romario and our compatriot Dejan-Rambo Petkovic.
