Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta sent a letter to the Constitutional Court of Romania president Augustin Zegrean asking him to instruct "that the adequate measures" are taken so that the Court ruling on the insolvency law "should produce the legal effects".

"Failure to communicate the President of Romania the Constitutional Court ruling by which it dismissed the exception of unconstitutionality of several provisions of the Law on the procedures for the prevention of insolvency and the insolvency, including the reasons behind the ruling is likely to lead to the failure of receiving significant revenues to the state budget", the prime minister says in the letter sent by the Government's press office to AGERPRES on Tuesday.

Ponta stressed that the Constitutional Court "in an unanimous vote" on this May 21 "dismissed as groundless the objection of unconstitutionality relating several provisions of the insolvency law raised by 83 deputies of the National Liberal Party's floor group".

He underscored that, according to the Romanian constitution, the Romanian President shall sign an act into law in no more than 10 days since receiving the Court ruling by which the constitutionality of the concerned act was confirmed.

"I voice conviction that, given such a situation, you will instruct that the adequate measures are taken so that the Court ruling should produce the effects set by the law", Ponta said.AGERPRES
